The 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly is being held in a particular context marked by the Covid-19 pandemic. This is the first General Assembly where the Heads of State and Government will not make the trip to New York.

This session will be an opportunity for Morocco to reaffirm its faith in multilateralism, to renew its confidence in the universal organization and to plead for more international solidarity and cooperation in the fight against the pandemic.

The Kingdom's commitment to multilateralism has been a paramount and constant foreign policy principle under the reigns of Their Majesties Mohammed V and Hassan II, May God have them in His Holy Mercy and His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God Assist Him.

The act of joining the United Nations on November 12, 1956 was one of the first sovereign decisions taken by independent Morocco. The Kingdom has ever since upheld a firm and full-fledged commitment to contribute to the achievement of the organization’s goals and principles, which converge with the fundamentals of Morocco’s foreign policy and international action.

Since His ascent to the throne of His Glorious ancestors, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God Assist him, has devised an ambitious multilateral Vision for Morocco based on the the principles of solidarity and cooperation as vehicles of the Moroccan multilateral diplomatic action, with a particular attention to its continent: Africa.
