They welcomed, in this regard, the positive dynamics of bilateral relations at the political, economic, cultural and academic levels, as well as the excellent coordination of the two countries within international organizations.

They also agreed to consolidate their bilateral relations to build an in-depth partnership, through the intensification of political dialogue, the establishment of a renewed economic cooperation framework, as well as the implementation of a revisited cooperation in education, training, scientific research and innovation, digital and cultural action. This partnership will be further strengthened by the mobilization of non-governmental actors, such as those in charge of decentralized cooperation for territorial development and increased links between business communities.

The Romanian Minister welcomed the role played by Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, as a regional pole of stability and as a relay of growth and development in Africa.

Minister Aurescu stressed Romania's commitment to accompany and support the strengthening of the strategic partnership between the EU and Morocco and its Southern neighborhood and with the Euro-African zone, in order to provide joint responses to all the challenges facing these regions, particularly in terms of security, stability, migration and socio-economic and human development.

Mr. Aurescu recalled the continued commitment of Romania to strengthen the Strategic Partnership between Morocco and the EU, reiterating the importance of the implementation of the Joint Political Declaration of June 2019. In this sense, he reaffirmed Romania's support for the maintenance and stability of the Moroccan-European multiform relationship, including all its sectorial agreements.

The two Ministers had an in-depth exchange on regional and international issues of common interest, with priority, on the Moroccan side, the Sahara issue and, on the Romanian side, developments in Ukraine.

Mr. Bourita praised the operational contribution of Romania in the repatriation of nearly 1500 Moroccan students in Ukraine and the assistance provided to them at the borders and on Romanian territory by the Romanian authorities and civil society, reiterating the invitation to Mr. Aurescu to come to Morocco as part of an official visit, and an Economic Forum to be organized between the business community in the two countries.

Mr. Bourita and Mr. Aurescu expressed their determination to maintain a continuous dialogue in favor of renewed multilateralism and agreed to undertake concerted actions within the United Nations in favor of peace and international security.

Mr. Bourita and Mr. Aurescu stressed the positive and constructive role of Morocco and Romania in maintaining stability, security and peace in their respective regions, being aware of the role and responsibility that dictate the geographical positions of the two countries to promote peace and harmony in Africa, the Mediterranean and Central Europe and Balkan.

Romania reaffirmed, in this spirit, its support for the efforts carried out under the exclusive auspices of the United Nations, with a view to reaching a just, lasting and mutually acceptable political solution to the Sahara issue, based on compromise, in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council. Romania commends Morocco’s serious efforts in this regard including the autonomy plan presented to the UN’s Security Council in 2007.
