Inter-Libyan Dialogue: Jordan Welcomes Morocco's Efforts
In a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad Mr. Nasser Bourita, Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Mr. Ayman Safadi, affirmed that his country welcomes the efforts of Morocco and its initiative to host the inter-Libyan dialogue with the aim of reaching a consensual political settlement between the Libyan parties in order to preserve unity, stability and security in Libya as well as this country's sovereignty and territorial integrity, said on Tuesday a statement from the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Jordanian foreign minister expressed his country's support for all efforts aimed at finding a political solution to the crisis in Libya. The Libyan dialogue sessions between the delegations of the High Council of State and the Parliament of Tobruk, aimed at maintaining the ceasefire and opening negotiations to end the conflicts between the Libyan parties, started on Sunday in Bouznika.
The Libyan dialogue comes a few weeks after the visit to Morocco by the President of the Libyan High Council of State, Khaled Al Mechri and the Speaker of the Libyan Parliament, Aguila Saleh, at the invitation of the speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives.
