Haiti Opens Consulate General in Dakhla
MFA Nasser Bourita stressed in a press briefing after the inauguration ceremony, that the opening of this consulate, which was announced last week by the Haitian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Claude Joseph, is the 8th diplomatic mission in the city of Dakhla.
"This city has become an important diplomatic hub thanks to its location, its vocation as a platform towards Sub-Saharan Africa and its potential that presents real prospects for regional development", recalled MFA Bourita.
The MFA underlined that the dynamic of opening Consulates in the southern provinces of Morocco is " part of the strategy planned by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God Assist Him, for the consecration of the Moroccanness of the Sahara".
For his part, Mr. Arthus expressed Haiti’s wish "to bring closer not only the two peoples but also the local communities of both countries, mainly the very active local community of Dakhla. »
He also expressed on this occasion the determination of his government to defend Morocco’s territorial integrity; which is a position that Haiti will defend within international organizations.
