Covid-19 :Moroccan Medical Aid Sent to Chad Arrives in N'Djamena

Covid-19 : Arrivée à N'Djaména de l’aide médicale marocaine destinée au Tchad
N’Djaména, (MOFA) -The medical aid sent by Morocco to Chad, as part of the aid sent following the high instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God Assist Him, to several brotherly African countries to help them in the management of the coronavirus pandemic, arrived Monday evening in N'Djamena.

This aid shows the strong African commitment and the active solidarity of the Kingdom towards the brotherly African countries within the framework of His Majesty King Mohammed VI's vision for South-South cooperation.

The aid was received at a ceremony attended by the Advisor to the President of the Republic in charge of education and scientific research, Hissein Massar, Minister of Health, Mahmoud Youssouf Khayal and the Ambassador of the Kingdom in N'Djamena, Abdellatif Erroja.

The ceremony was also attended by the chairman of the Higher Council for Islamic Affairs, Mohamed Khater Aissa, representatives of the Tarika Tijania, the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema in Chad, and several MPs. Speaking on this occasion, the Ambassador of Morocco underlined that through this medical aid, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, has kindly given real meaning to active and pragmatic solidarity between Morocco and Chad.

It is also an initiative that reflects the excellent ties of brotherhood and friendship between His Majesty the King and his brother President Idriss Deby Itno, said Erroja.

The Moroccan diplomat noted that in this context of the crisis triggered by the Covid19 pandemic, which affected the whole world, solidarity must prevail over all other considerations between countries and nations, adding that the aid is intended to back Chad's national response to fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

The aid also shows that South-South cooperation, initiated by His Majesty the King for the benefit of the African continent, is based on a concrete and united approach, he underlined.

His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, gave his very high instructions for sending medical aid to several brotherly African countries. The aid is intended to provide protective medical equipment to support the brotherly African countries in their efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

It is composed of nearly 8 million face masks, 900,000 visors, 600,000 hygiene caps, 60,000 coats, 30,000 liters of hydroalcoholic gel, as well as 75,000 packs of chloroquine and 15,000 packs of Azithromycin.
