The Ambassador, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mr. Mohammed Ali Lazreq, received on Tuesday 07 March 2017 at the headquarters of the Ministry, the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, His Excellency Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, who is on an official visit to Morocco.
During the meeting, the two parties expressed their satisfaction with the fraternal and exemplary relations between Morocco and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), welcoming the exemplary and prestigious level achieved through this cooperation.
In this regard, the Ambassador, Secretary-General, stressed the role of leadership played by Morocco in the establishment of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), underlining the Kingdom's continued determination to strengthen relations and to further promote them for the common good of the Islamic Ummah, under the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him.
For his part, the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen, commended the active role and continuous efforts of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, in the defense of the legal status of Al-Quds Al-Sharif and its civilizational identity, constituting a historical symbol of the coexistence between the revealed religions.
Mr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen also welcomed the humanitarian and socio-cultural projects carried out by the Bayt Al-Quds Acharif Agency, established by the Al-Quds Committee, chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, for the preservation of the identity of the Al Aqsa mosque and its protection against all threats.
At the end of the meeting, the OIC Secretary General welcomed the return of Morocco to its institutional family, the African Union (AU). For his part, the Ambassador, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation expressed his gratitude for this fraternal gesture.
