The Minister Delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mrs. Mbarka Bouaida, received, on Tuesday 05 April 2016 in Rabat, elected local officials from Bordeaux.
At the end of this meeting, Mrs. Bouaida indicated that this meeting was an opportunity to present the Moroccan diplomatic policy and inform members of the delegation from Bordeaux, among which certain persons of Moroccan origin, of the latest developments of the national cause.
Furthermore, the Minister Delegate proceeded with members of the delegation to the discussion of the potential contribution of local diplomacy in the national diplomatic action, while evoking the opportunities and possibilities of a rapprochement between the city of Bordeaux and other Moroccan cities.
She also stated that it is important to highlight the cultural and religious dialogue that Morocco has always promoted.
For his part, Mr. Benoît Martin, Councillor at the city council of Bordeaux, noted that this meeting falls within the framework of intercultural and inter-associative exchange between Bordeaux and Moroccan cities.
The Councilor from Bordeaux added that cooperation between Bordeaux and Casablanca, twinned cities since several years, is exemplary, indicating that this visit aims at reinforcing such cooperation and boost intercultural exchange in general.
For his part, the President of the French-Moroccan network for competences of the Greater Southwest, Mr. Rachid Anane, stated that the trip of the delegation from Bordeaux, composed of elected local officials and representatives of religious authorities, aim at reinforcing the ties bringing together the two countries, but also promote the values that have been constantly promoted by Morocco, in particular living together and tolerance.
