The Ambassador, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, received on Wednesday 29 March 2017 in Rabat, the Ambassador, Special Envoy of the Australian Prime Minister for the Francophone African States, Mr. William FISHER, Currently on a working visit to Morocco.
The two diplomats welcomed the imminent opening of the Australian Embassy in Rabat, marking a new phase in the Moroccan-Australian relations.
The two senior officials stressed the importance of giving Moroccan-Australian relations a new dynamic, given the importance of the role that the two countries play in their respective geopolitical environments and the convergence of views on issues of interest such as the fight against terrorism, extremism and radicalism.
For his part, the Australian Special Envoy congratulated Morocco on its return to its institutional family, stressing that Australia is firmly certain that Africa has everything to gain from this return.
Mr. FISHER noted the central place of the Kingdom as an economic and commercial hub for the Arab, European and African markets and as a leading economic player in the African continent.
