Press Release : Morocco condemns strongly the acts of violence that took place in Mali.
Rabat 05.19.2014

The Kingdom of Morocco follows with great concern and real preoccupation the dangerous deterioration of the political and security situation in the North of Mali. Morocco condemns strongly the acts of violence and the armed clashes that took place on Saturday, which left several deaths, dozens of injured and the taking of many hostages.

The Kingdom of Morocco which committed itself, in a concrete and credible way, for the restoration of peace and the enhancement of reconciliation in Mali, calls upon all Malian parties, to make self restraint in declarations and to refrain from any act that exacerbates tensions and divisions between the components of the Malian people and that hinders the national reconciliation process.

Only the quick and unconditional return back to calm, the sincere resort to the spirit of dialogue and compromise and the pre-eminence of the Malian nation’s highest interests, guarantee the lasting peace and the preservation of the territorial sovereignty and the national unity of this brotherly country.
