 The Moroccan Academy for Diplomatic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation organized, Friday 6th of October, the closing ceremony of the International Cycle in Diplomacy Training, in English, for the benefit of the diplomats from Asia-Pacific islands, namely, Fiji, Nauru and Vanuatu.
This certificate and trophy ceremony was held in the presence of the Ambassador Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. MOHAMMED ALI LAZREQ, and several officials from the Ministry and the Moroccan Agency International Cooperation.
In her opening speech, Mrs. Nadia El HNOT, Director of the Academy, recalled the prominence of this International Cycle in Diplomacy Training, which takes place during the Moroccan presidency of COP22 and the incoming presidency of Fiji COP 23, and contributes to strengthening bilateral relations and ties between our respective countries. As for today, the Academy has trained more than 100 diplomats from around the world in various fields.
This training cycle aims the exchange of expertise in the field of sustainable development and renewable energy. The training program lasted two weeks and focused on Morocco's experience in the organization of COP22, human development and the fight against terrorism, as well as the bilateral relations between Morocco and these countries.
A protocol workshop was also offered to Pacific diplomats to acquaint them with the main missions of a protocol agent and present Morocco's experience in organizing large-scale events. In addition, several cultural visits were organized to different institutions and cities of the Kingdom.
For their parts, the participants expressed their gratitude to the Kingdom of Morocco for the exchange of expertise and for the efforts made to succeed this International Cycle in Diplomacy Training.
