Communiqué on Moroccan Pilgrims following the tragic incident that took place in Mina.

With reference to the Communiqué of the Royal Cabinet issued, on Saturday September 26th 2015, on Moroccan pilgrims following the tragic incident that took place in Mina and in continuity of the actions undertaken by the Moroccan authorities in coordination with the Saudi authorities, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation announces that the number of the Moroccan dead pilgrims, up till now, is 5, whose families are being informed, and the number of the wounded who are under medical treatment in the different hospitals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is 8 (5 men and 3 women). It has also been noted that 34 pilgrims are still missing until now (15 men and 19 women).

Statement of The King's Office about the Mina stampede incident

The King's Office pointed out in a statement that "Pursuant to the High instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the president of the Moroccan official delegation for Hajj and His Majesty the King's Ambassador in Riyadh following the tragedy that occurred in Mina stampede, and to guarantee the safety of Moroccan pilgrims and take all necessary measures in the case of casualties or injuries among them, the Moroccan Mission continues the search operations of Missing Moroccan pilgrims and has confirmed up to now the death of two pilgrims, a woman and a man residing in Morocco and a third residing in Saudi Arabia, whose families were informed after the confirmation of their identities".
