M. Bourita: Des documents officiels d'un Etat voisin invitent les autres pays à ne pas participer au Forum de Crans Montana à Dakhla
Dakhla - Official documents "unfortunately" emanating from a neighboring State invite other countries not to participate in the upcoming Crans Montana Forum to be held in Dakhla, said Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita.

"The Crans Montana Forum will be held on the scheduled date and will be as successful as the previous years, since Morocco's logic has always been constructive," Mr. Bourita stressed at a press briefing Friday on the occasion of the opening of Djibouti's consulate general in Dakhla.

"Morocco defends all opportunities for cooperation and dialogue in the southern provinces and if one party wants to stand in the way of this logic, let it assume its responsibilities. The Kingdom knows its path well and will not deviate from it," he added.

The minister reaffirmed that Morocco's sovereignty over the Sahara "is not subject to a process that consists in convincing a well-known party to engage in a constructive effort to put an end to this artificial conflict", recalling that the Kingdom "never places its sovereignty over its Sahara on the table of negotiations or any other process".

His Majesty King Mohammed VI decided that Morocco will not remain inactive and launched a new development model for the southern provinces, while working for the upholding of the international recognition of the Moroccan Sahara, he pointed out.

Mr. Bourita noted that the momentum of strengthening the recognition of the Moroccan Sahara is following its path, adding that other countries will soon open their consulates in Laayoune and Dakhla and that several diplomatic meetings will take place in these two cities.
