MFA Nasser Bourita receives his Gabonese counterpart
This meeting is part of the historical fraternity relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Gabonese Republic in line with the will of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and His Brother, President Ali Bongo Ondimba, who is in a working and friendly visit to Morocco.
During this meeting, the two ministers examined means to further consolidate bilateral relations, in particular through the forthcoming organization of a joint commission and the strengthening of the economic and commercial cooperation between Morocco and Gabon which are key players in the regional integration in Africa.
Mr. Moubelet-Boubeya expressed the wish to see the Moroccan private sector become more involved in the Gabonese economy in order to share its expertise with local operators.
At the regional and international levels, the two officials welcomed the convergence of views, in particular on issues of peace and security which threaten the stability of the African continent.
Reaffirming Gabon's unwavering support for the Moroccan Sahara, the Gabonese Minister of Foreign Affairs reiterated his country's desire to strengthen its presence in the southern provinces, while expressing his gratitude to the Kingdom for the support provided during the organization of the Gabonese Cultural Day in Laayoune.
Following the example of this event which was, according to Mr. Moubelet-Boubeya, a great success, Gabon intends to organize other events in the southern provinces of Morocco.
