Bamako, (MOFA) - The support of the Kingdom of Morocco to Mali reflects a long history that unites the two peoples, Malian dignitary Imam Mahmoud Dicko said on Tuesday in Bamako.

It is not a recent cooperation, the Kingdom has been granting the same support to the Malian people since the independence of Mali, he told the press on the sidelines of the visit to Bamako of Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita.

"We must reaffirm and further consolidate these ties which unite our two peoples", underlined Imam Mahmoud Dicko, noting that this visit to Mali of a strong delegation from the Kingdom of Morocco mirrors all the sympathy and the friendship towards the Malian people, and reflects notably what the Commander of the Faithful HM King Mohammed VI represents for Mali.

"On all occasions when Mali was going through difficult situations, Morocco was the first country to come to the aid of Mali," he said.
