Covid-19 : Moroccan Medical Aid for Burkina Faso Arrives in Ouagadougou
This Royal Initiative, which reflects the Sovereign's particular interest in strengthening inter-African cooperation in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, is in line with the South-South solidarity partnership advocated by Morocco for the benefit of the African continent.
It materializes the action-oriented initiative launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God Assist Him, with the aim of establishing an operational framework to support Burkina Faso in the various phases of managing the pandemic.
The aid, which is also part of the Kingdom's active solidarity with sister African countries and Burkina Faso in particular, with which Morocco has excellent relations, characterized by mutual consultation and a regular exchange of high-level visits, includes protective and preventive equipment and products as well as a batch of medicines.
It is also composed of a large batch of protective masks, visors, gowns, in addition to the hydroalcoholic gel, as well as batches of chloroquine and Azithromycin.
On their arrival at Ouagadougou airport, the equipment and products making up the Moroccan aid were received by Minister of Health of Burkina Faso, Pr Claudine Lougué, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alpha Barry, in the presence of Morocco's Ambassador to Burkina Faso, Youssef Slaoui.
