"We have clearly expressed South Sudan's position on the Sahara issue: we support the Kingdom of Morocco in its position on this issue and we support the sovereignty and the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco," insisted Mr. Riek.

The Ambassador was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Mr. Nasser Bourita, to whom he handed a copy of his credentials as the Ambassador of South Sudan to Morocco.

"We are a sovereign state which only establishes relations with sovereign states," he pointed out.

During this meeting, the two officials welcomed the opening of an embassy of South Sudan in Morocco, expressing their wish to strengthen bilateral relations for the mutual benefit of the two brotherly peoples.
