Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Malaysia in 1963, both countries have spared no efforts to strengthen their friendship ties and cooperation in different domains particularly after the Royal Visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to Malaysia in 2003.

Recent Bilateral Visits

  • December 2012: Participation of Mr. Mohammed Najib Boulif, Minister in Charge of General Affairs and Good Governance in the 8th Conference of « World Islamic Forum » ;
  • October 2010 : Visit of Mr. Yasser Zenagui, Former Minister of Tourism;
  • 8-10 February 2010: Visit of Mr. Mohammed Ouzzine, Former State Secretary at the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
  • September 29 to October 3, 2010: Visit of Mr. Hamzah Zainudin Malaysian Deputy Minister of Industry,
  • 6-19 February 2010: Working visit of Sri Dato 'Seri Abdul Bin Ibrahim, Chief Minister of Selangor state.

Cultural Cooperation

  • 142 Malaysian students were enrolled in Moroccan universities for the academic year 2010/2011.
  • Fifteen academic scholarships are granted to Malaysian students this year.
  • 107 Malaysians students graduated between1990 and 2009, including 30 in 2010.
  • Within the framework of the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP), a great number of Moroccan officials benefit each year from trainings and academic scholarships offered by the Malaysian government.

Legal Framework

  • 4 August 2003: Agreement in the field of training and information technology in public administration.
  • January 19, 2004: Oil agreement and a partnership agreement related to"Rabat-Sale high sea" between ONAREP and PETRONAS Malaysian society
    October 4, 2004: Agreement on the Establishment of Morocco-Malaysia Business Council / MMBC in Kuala Lumpur.
